In May 2000, I was selected to be a member of the Grand Jury in Orange County, CA. I served a one year term that began on July 3, 2000. There were nineteen members and our job was to oversee the County and Local Governments as well as have criminal cases presented to us for indictments. I have always been interested in Government, both State and Federal. It was a wonderful experience. I continue to be involved with both the local and state Grand Jurors Associations. During the summer at seminars throughout the state, I team teach a class on how to conduct civil investigations to new Grand Jurors.

I am a major football fan. The Denver Broncos have been my favorite team since 1977 when Craig Morton was their quarterback. I really enjoyed the two Super Bowls that the Broncos won. I always look forward to football season in the fall. I was very happy for the Rams won their first Super Bowl in 2000. For many years my significant other and I were season ticket holders in Los Angeles and Anaheim. I watched the 2000 draft and things may really be interesting this season with the salary cap and all the changes to each team. Tennessee and Tampa Bay may be the teams to watch in 2000.

I am also very interested in Genealogy. I use FamilyTreeMaker and have over 15,000 names on my 'tree'. I have met many new cousins on line in the past seven years and am developing new relationships with them over time. I am a member of the Orange County California Genealogy Society and make a weeklong trip nearly every April to Salt Lake City. These are great trips to the Family History Library with my society. I attended a family reunion in Oregon in August 2000 to meet relatives that I discovered in the summer of 1999 on another genealogy trip to West Virgina. I am editing a 1000-page book written by one of my 'new' relatives. She did a wonderful job and it was great to meet her and the others in Oregon.
